ARINC announced it has been selected to join the NXDN™ Forum. The NXDN Forum was established in 2008 to promote the NXDN digital air protocol for use with narrowband technologies. By 2013, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has mandated that all radio users operating below 512 MHz migrate from 25 kHz to narrowband (12.5 kHz) or very narrowband (6.25 kHz) channels for Land Mobile Radio (LMR) operations.
ARINC brings extensive experience designing, implementing, and managing LMR infrastructures, as well as command and control, security, and information systems to the Forum. ARINC's system integration and communications systems expertise will help its current and future customers leverage NXDN Digital Radio Technology to improve the productivity and performance of their critical operations.
"We are pleased to announce our membership to the NXDN Forum,” said Dennis Lengyel, Staff Vice President of ARINC’s Surface Transportation and Security Systems Division. “We believe our extensive work in this field will benefit companies in a wide variety of industries including freight railroads, transit agencies, utilities, airports, and public safety departments. We look forward to helping organizations such as these migrate to the NXDN protocol and to satisfy the FCC mandate."
