ARINC's Airport Systems division has announced that it has signed a multimillion, multi-year contract renewal with Bags Inc., extending the existing agreement to 2019. The new agreement will upgrade the remote Check-In platform. ARINC's AviSec passenger data transfer & advance passenger information (API) is a multi-channel platform that offers a set of applications with common user interfaces, resulting in a lower cost solution to checking-in passengers and baggage for both agent-assisted and self-service models.
Delivered as a hosted solution the multi-channel platform can operate off-airport in hotels, conference centres, etc. or on-airport, where it can significantly increase check-in counter utilization by processing multiple airlines in a truly common use operation. Mike Picco, Vice President of ARINC Airport Solutions noted "ARINC has pioneered internet-based check-in technology since our initial agreement with BAGS in 2003," and continued "We believe this renewal is a reflection of our commitment to continually enhance the underlying technology.
