August 19-22, APCO International Annual Conference and Expo in Minneapolis, Minnesota, ARINC will demonstrate its standards-based Cassidian CORP25 radio system designed to provide complete interoperability solutions for public safety customers.
The Cassidian CORP25 radio system coupled with the unique ability of IPICS to communicate using both non-traditional devices such as PCs, Smartphones and VOIP phones and legacy radios. Creating a state-of-the art system that significantly improves emergency responders’ ability to communicate during incidents. Using the APCO Project 25 (P25) Inter-Sub System Interface (ISSI) interface, the standards-based Cassidian/Cisco CORP25 radio system integration will highlight the seamless communications between the IPCS IDC client and standard P25 radios from multiple vendors, including RELM, Kenwood, and Thales.
In addition to improved coverage and capacity, the ARINC system offers significant cost benefits. Radio prices either stay the same or increase over the life of the system with single vendor solutions, but ARINC’s multi-vendor solution frees customers from using one manufacturer and enables them to compete for the best prices while taking advantage of future technology improvements.
"We have delivered solutions using Cisco IPICS for a number of years and are excited to have a native ISSI interface to support our P25 systems," commented ARINCs Senior Director of Public Safety Communications, Marvin Ingram, "This provides a more robust interface to support legacy radio integration with P25 systems," he continued.
